A New Lease on Life

A New Lease on Life is designed to help those who are experiencing homelessness get back on their feet through stable housing. We work with other nonprofit agencies and rental communities to provide apartments at a reduced rate with gradual quarterly increases over a 12- to 24-month period.

31%

of North Carolina’s homeless population in 2019 were families

One Unit = One Family’s Home

This program offers a hand up to families in our community. We want to provide an essential need through stable housing. This allows families to establish up to 2 years of positive rental history, after which they can remain as market renters or, in some instances, purchase a home of their very own. Let's put an end to individuals and families living out of their cars and children taking baths in school sinks. With your help, we can end homelessness — one unit and one family at a time!

4,500

school-age children were homeless in Wake County during the 2019-20 school year

17%

of North Carolina’s homeless population in 2019 were youth under age 18

Partnerships

One of our greatest needs is management companies and owners to partner with. If you have an apartment home that may otherwise sit vacant, consider partnering with us to give a home to a family in need.

We partner with two types of organizations:

  • Owner/Operator Members of the Triangle Apartment Association who can provide housing opportunities

  • Nonprofit agencies that provide case management programs to those experiencing homelessness
